Exercise plays an important role in your health.  Dr. Dave recommends exercise based in Super Slow strength training, functional training and Interval cardio training.  This effective approach offers efficiency and sustainable.  The total time training per week is about 90 minutes.  The Super Slow Strength training is an intense style of lifting weights with the intentions to generate a stimulus to cause strength and metabolic improvements. It produces a very safe deep level of fatigue, which triggers all of the desirable outcomes of exercise. Early research with Super Slow demonstrated great results with bone density improvement as well. Strength training increases the body composition with more skeletal muscle.  Increased skeletal muscle is important for insulin sensitivity (diabetes prevention) and increasing your metabolism.  Every pound of muscle on the body increases your metabolism by 50-100 calories burned per day, with a preference of energy for body fat.  Additionally, high intensity interval training is a great way to improve cardiovascular fitness while avoiding over use problems associated with long steady state activities.  Dr. Dave uses functional training to optimize fitness with performance and injury rehab.
